Amazon Inspector has now extended its scanning capabilities to include code security checks of Lambda functions and associated layers. This allows it to detect potential software vulnerabilities in application package dependencies as well as code security vulnerabilities such as injection flaws, data leaks, weak cryptography, and missing encryption based on AWS security best practices. When vulnerabilities are discovered, Inspector provides actionable security findings, code snippets, and remediation guidance. All findings are organized in the Amazon Inspector console and can be sent to AWS Security Hub and Amazon EventBridge for automation.
